Warren L. Dinges, MD, PhD

CEO and President

In early 2008, Dr. Dinges founded HeatFlow Technologies™ to develop his invention HeatFlow PCR™. Dr. Dinges gained his clinical and diagnostics experience through his extensive medical and scientific training. Most recently in June 2009, Dr. Dinges finished his Infectious Diseases Fellowship at the University of Washington and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. During that fellowship he focused on the rare HIV-1 infected persons who control the viral infection without the need for anti-retroviral medication. Dr. Dinges previously completed his Internal Medicine training at Parkland Hospital and the University of Texas Southwestern (UTSW) Medical Center in Dallas. In 2003, also at UTSW, Dr. Dinges graduated as a Doctor of Medicine with Distinction in Research, the first such degree UTSW ever awarded. During his medical training he also received a Doris Duke Clinical Research Fellowship at UTSW to study HIV-associated lipodystrophy.

During doctoral studies, Dr. Dinges studied energetic materials and synthetic polymers, eventually culminating in his PhD in Chemistry from the University of Oklahoma in 1999. During a break in his graduate studies, Dr. Dinges was awarded his first patent, “Formation of Basic Hydrogen Peroxide” in 1995. This sole-inventor US patent detailed novel methods for the generation and regeneration of fuel for Chemical Oxygen-Iodine Lasers (COIL) in support of the US Air Force Airborne Laser Program. Dr. Dinges previously completed a rigorous one-year Master of Science in Chemistry at the University of Oklahoma, where he studied organometallic catalysis. This opportunity was awarded as part of a Graduate Scholars Program from his undergraduate institution. In 1990, Dr. Dinges graduated as a distinguished graduate and the top graduate in chemistry from the US Air Force Academy with a BS in Chemistry in 1990. He is originally from Austin Texas.
